Hello Interwebs,
A lot has happened lately, and my blog has suffered from my busy schedule. Actually, my friends and family have also had a lack of attention, so I think its time for a Bernie Update. If you have been to my homepage, you know that I’m attending UCLA to get my M.S. in Computer Science. Well… Its done!! My review committee accepted my research project, so it’s official; I have my Masters of Science in Computer Science from the University of California, Los Angeles! Awesome!!!
But while I was finishing up my M.S. degree, I also took interviews at two companies, Google and Amazon. Both places are ah-mazing places to work, plus my current job at The Aerospace Corporation is also great, but I choice to accept the offer from Amazon, and will be working in Irvine CA at A2Z!
So I will be finishing up my last week of work at Aerospace, while looking for a place to live in Irvine.
Up coming dates:
June 10th - Last day at Aerospace
June 11th - Graduation Ceremony
June 20th - Start new job at A2Z
I wanted to say “Thank you!” to all my friends and family who put up with all my complaining, lack of attention, being irritated, complaining (again), tiredness, stress, pain, and suffering, while getting my M.S. degree. There have been plenty of late nights & lack of sleep, trying to keep up, doing a good job at work, while working on projects and research for school. I missed a lot of good times & nights out, but hopefully we can make up for that now :) I also wanted to give a special thanks to Matt P., Brian T., and Boyd C. for writing me letters of recommendation, without those I would have never gotten accepted to UCLA. Also I want to thank The Aerospace Corporation and all the people involved who believed in me and supported me during my time there, also for the Fellowship, which paid for school, without that I would not have been able to attend. It’s been a great 10 years, and I have done some great work there and learned a lot. And last but not least, I wanted to say another thank you to Brian T. again, and Brianne K. for helping me with my final review and edits on my research paper. Those seven weeks went by fast, and a lot of work was cramped into it. If you’re curious… here is a copy of my report. Its great reading for when you have insomnia :)
Okay… so let’s get this next part of my life going… 3, 2, 1, Go!
-Bernie
