Google TV and Wireless Keyboards

It seems like the new Google TV relies heavily on the use of the Wireless Keyboard. If I remember correctly… are wireless keyboard easy to capture keystrokes from? I think its called WarTyping. I believe the good people over at http://www.remote-exploit.org/ even have a video showing how.

Now I have no problem with wireless mouse, since its just up/down and click events… and the Boxee Remote sends commands over WiFi which can be protected with WPA security. BUT keyboard signals are very important. AND they transmit data very far. I have not played around with it so I’m not positive that it needs a wireless keyboard, but I hope it can work well without one.

UPDATE (10/25/2010):
I was talking with some friends and I heard on a podcast about some logitech keyboards that have AES 128-bit encryption on the keyboard. They leave the mouse open… but the keyboard is encrypted. Awh-some! Good job logitech… but make sure your wireless keyboard has this feature!

128-bit AES encryption
It helps protect your information by encrypting data transfer between the keyboard and receiver with one of the highest levels of data encryption available.
